This poem, "One Drunken dAy and Night,"is what I'd call, pure poetry in prose. Dennis has taken notes from his time in San Francisco [l968-69]He also wrote a book, "Romancing San Francisco," and put it into poetic prose. I am surpirsed he did this, but he wanted to express I think how it was in his drinking days. He used to walk the Streets of Minneapolis (as well as San Francisco), and wrote poetry and had it published walf drunk, published in the local newspapers in the early l980s [1981-83], he stopped drinkng in l984. And in the 60s, he was drunk all the time. In any case, this poetic expression and experience is very real. Perhaps now was the only time he was able to illustragte this in a moral insifhtful and brief way in words. It is vivid, and experimental for Dennis. Also today at the book store, the author and poet, E.J. Soltermann, commented on Dennis' poem in his new book, "Last Autumn and Winter," called "Night Poem, In the Minnesota Cold," he said: "That is Poetry." I know that is not much, but a powerful statement coming from someone who can judge poetry for its worth.

Nearly 12 years after 23 year-old Tejano star Selena Quintanilla-Perez was murdered at a Corpus Christi motel cutting short a blossoming career that was on the verge of reaching mega stardom, her legend lives on. After posthumously achieving her last dream of crossing over into the mainstream music industry, Selena is now an inspirational music icon whose life has been captured in film and whose legend will live until the end of time.

Poemas De Amor

Three Commentaries on Poetry: To understand some poetry, or poets, one must have experienced what the poet has-identical experiences; or you must be shaped like the poet-, the exceptions are from the old school of poetry-one shoe fits all (thus, understanding the theme, plot and insight of poetry becomes much easier); from the contemporary scene, you must have the same shoe size of the poet to understand where the poet is leading you, and in poetry the poet should have a destination for the reader-lest he doesn't care (and he should).

Poems about John the Apostle (Poems I, II, & III) Version en Ingles 1) To Gain Access to the Father (John the Apostle) - Poem I To make the invisible, visible (within the eyes of the mind, heart and soul) John the Apostle, the perpetual wayfarer and Theologian reveals to man: First he must form a relationship with Jesus ((the true vine) (man being the branches)) Before he gains...

Love and its attendant passions has been the favorite subject of Spanish poetry since the time of the troubadours, medieval poets who earned their keep by singing for the people at the village square or for the nobility during royal gatherings at the palace. Composers in their own right, these court poets sang about courtly love and the bittersweet pain of unattained love for an idealized woman using the jarchas, a form of love song that was actually poetry written in very short stanzas.

Here is a poem on the Satipo Jungle of Peru, we have some land in the jungle, and it is about 300-miles from the Andes, from Hauncayo, Peru, where Dennis will be going in March. He will go back for the 9th time to Peru, to the Andes, spend some time in Satipo, and then back to Lima, and then perhaps to Spain, where he was back in l997; I have been to Europe a number of times, but not to Spain, so this will be great, if we do really go, he is also talking about the Falklands, so who knows. But I'd go anywhere, anytime anyplace with him, he is one big adventure, no matter where he's at. So please enjoy his poem, I did. It is in three parts, but you do not have to wait for them, they are all here.

Frases De Amor

Today we will learn some romantic words and phrases in Spanish. I had originally planned to write this article the weekend when Colombia celebrated "El Día de Amor y Amistad" (the day of love and friendship). In Colombia, the celebration of "El Día de Amor y Amistad" is kind of like Valentine's Day in the States.

I gave my "novia" (girlfriend) "chocolates" y "rosas." And a "peluche" (stuffed animal).

The "peluche" was a "peluche de Los Pitufos." Do you know who "Los Pitufos" are in English?

"Los Pitufos" is the Spanish word for "The Smurfs."

The weekend of "El Día de Amor y Amistad" "paseamos" (we went away) to a "pueblito" (little town). So I didn't get to send the email then. And considering that Latinos have a reputation for being hot blooded, intense, passionate lovers, an email covering this topic would be appropriate for "El Día de Amor y Amistad." So here are "10 frases románticas" that you can say to your "novio/a," (boyfriend/girlfriend), "amante" (lover), "esposo/a" (spouse).

Love Images

Tuesday, 30 July 2013
The image of love and romance is very common within art and has been for many centuries, right back to the rise of the Renaissance across Italy and then the rest of Europe. Art has always been about emotion and there is no stronger emotion than love, making it an ideal subject for any painting or drawing. This powerful emotion can have negative and positive impacts on everyone's lives and as such the images and paintings created from it depict a wide range in scenes which cover for example happy couples or the loneliness of someone after a relationship breakup.

The importance of love and romance has not changed in society for hundreds of years but the way in which it has been depicted in art has. Previously, traditional art meant that paintings would be highly decorative and complex pieces which marked the renaissance and baroque periods before newer art movements came about such as the Pre-Raphaelites, where artists were encouraged to centre in on a central figure which would normally be a glamorous woman sat by herself. JW Waterhouse was loosely connected to this art movement and he created paintings such as Tristan and Isolde.

Within the modern era art movements have become far more abstract and people's choices for images and pictures of love have changed considerably, with many going for simple digital ones that get their messages across in a very unsubtle way that fits into the much faster pace of society in general. E-cards have to a certain degree taken on traditional cards as a way of getting across romantic messages to a loved one but it is highly unlikely that they will ever actually replace them because printed cards suggest more of an effort has been made and this is important when receiving any romantic messages.

We can comfortably conclude that art and love have been close partners for many centuries, with artists tapping into the power of this emotion to produce impressive and memorable paintings that have also been greatly appreciated by the art mainstream public because of their own interest in this passionate emotion. The media continue to underline the importance of love to one's personal happiness and as such so much of people's behaviour in spent in and around finding or enjoying romance in various ways. People will go to extraordinary lengths in order to achieve the important feeling of love and so it is also highly appreciated from it's inclusion with in art.

That love which was weary, hungry, tempted, scorned, scourged, buffeted, spat upon, crucified, pierced - which fasted, prayed, taught, healed, wept, sweated, bled, died. That love will eternally embrace you.' Richard Baxter, hymn writer, imprisoned preacher

Here is something better than a cool breeze on a scorching day, better than snowflakes at Christmas, better than your favourite friend, better than your birthday...

A lot of our members have requested some guidance on how to answer this question, because it's a question that a great many women struggle to answer with conviction.

Of course, there is no infallible litmus test. How boring life would be if there were! So this article is not intended to give you any sort of checklist that leads you to an easy answer. I'll leave such contrivances to the teenage magazines.

Quite possibly, love is one of the most over-used and abused words in the English language. In spite of the considerable efforts of our most accomplished poets and writers to capture the beauty of the word, its high currency is commonly devalued to the point of worthlessness. Here in England, for example, you can find yourself addressed as "Love" or "My love" by a shop assistant who has never before laid eyes upon you as you make a trivial purchase at a store.
